About the Area
New Ross (Irish: Ros Mhic Thriúin) is a town located on the River Barrow, near the border with County Kilkenny, around 20 km north east of Waterford. In 2011 it had a population of 8,151 people, making it the third-largest town in the county after Wexford and Enniscorthy.
