Woodstock Agricultural Model School and Residence was built during the famine and opened in 1850.

The school, adjoining residence and outbuildings are in disrepair and are now in need of complete refurbishment.

The residence and school extend to 205 Sq. M. / 2,207 Sq. Ft. (approx.) The school consists of two large classrooms and back hall, with many of the original features intact.

The residence at ground floor level comprises: entrance hall, sitting room, living room, kitchen, back hall/pantry and bathroom. The layout at first floor level comprises: landing area and three generous sized double bedrooms.

GARDENS AND LANDS:
Woodstock School and residence sits peacefully on circa 9.21 Acres / 3.73 Hectares of agricultural land which is made-up of gardens and a yard area to the rear of the school and residence. The land is divided into four fields with road frontage on three sides.

The courtyard directly to the rear of the residence still has the original cobblestone intact.

Woodstock School and residence is accessed through stone entrance piers with a long driveway leading up to the front of the property.

There are several original stone outbuildings to the rear which are in disrepair but offer endless potential subject to necessary planning permission. A small hay-barn is in the second yard/haggard area. There are three old water wells on the land (property now connected to the local water mains).

LOCATION:
Woodstock School and residence is well located in the townland of Clodiagh, just a 5-minute drive (R700) to the pretty village of Inistioge.

Inistioge is renowned for its stunning landscape, panoramic views, tranquil streets, historic buildings, local walking trails (loop walks, and the longer Nore and South Leinster Way walks), and the unique Woodstock Gardens & Arboretum which are open to the public. The village became an internationally known Irish village by its portrayal in the film "Circle of Friends".

Inistioge village has many important amenities including St. Columcille’s National School, Clever Cats Creche / Woodstock Playschool and Montessori, supermarket, post office and three public houses.

Thomastown is a 15-minute drive away (via R700) and has a good range of restaurants, shops, supermarkets (Super Valu and Lidl) and Thomastown Train Station allowing commuting to Waterford, Kilkenny and Dublin six times daily.

Woodstock School and residence is a 35-minute drive to Kilkenny City (via R700), a 20-minute drive to New Ross (via R700), 40-minute drive to Waterford and 45-minute drive to Carlow town.

Nestling in the verdant Nore valley Inistioge offers some of the best scenery in the region, particularly in the recently restored gardens of the Woodstock estate. There are endless leisure activities to avail of in the area, and hiking is particularly popular along the river paths and woodlands. There are also several excellent restaurants and pubs in Inistioge, providing the area with an atmospheric meeting spot.
