The grounds containing 2.5 acres approx., bound the R572 main road and also bound Ballydonegan river.

The village of Allihies is just a 10-minute walk. The shops, cafes, pubs, colourful streetscape, gardens and play area add to the ambience of this unique West Cork location. The world renowned Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre is just a short drive also.

The Beara Peninsula is renowned for its scenery and walking trails including many historical and archaeological sites. The Beara Peninsula's principal town, the fishing port of Castletownbere, is just a 20 minute drive and is one of Europe's premier hubs for fishing fleets.

Allihies is a coastal parish in the west of County Cork.

The annual Allihies Festival traditionally takes place on the 15th of August. It usually features horse racing - a practice probably dating from the time of more widespread use of horses and ponies in the copper mining industry. It takes place in a setting between the ocean and the surrounding mountains. The festivities now extend through the week and feature music, bale tossing and other events.

In 2008-9 the village also hosted the Michael Dwyer Festival of Traditional Irish music, which commemorates the life of a Beara musician and composer.
